Every day we meet a lot of people who have a prosthetics, but most part of time we don’t notice this fact. The main purpose of prosthetics is a substitution of lacked functions or parts of human body. So it can be artificial teeth or eyes, glasses, crutches. Also we call as prosthetics artificial joints, silicon breasts for woman and different pacemakers for heart, muscles and brain (in case of epilepsy and Parkinson's disease). The limbs prosthesis is most interesting for me. Why? I have thought a lot about receiving a new artificial limb instead of my bio-limb. This idea seemed useful and cool to me. But I had seen a lot of interviews with people who used prosthetics and most of them have regrets about lacking native limbs. They note that such limb is better than absolutely nothing or primitive hooks from 19th century, but now nobody can return them senses without a pain. This words sober me, but my interest is unstoppable. I have learned a lot of information about prosthetic limbs. For example, they have a different types: cosmetic one without any functional also called body-powered; myoelectric used a special sensors in a skin surface to catch a muscle electricity for movement; robotic prosthesis with using a brain neural chips/implant, people can say that this prosthetics are moved “by thoughts”, but they are also used an electricity of neurons in brain. Last one is one of the most advanced type of prosthetics. The patients can feel temperature and pressure during using these artificial limbs. Technology is constantly evolving. Prosthetics of missing limbs is one way to help people receive back the joy of life and working capacity. Of course, this requires certain costs of monetary and human resources.
