Reporting directly to the Client Account Manager and the Finance & Facilities Manager, this trainee legal cashier position is a key finance role, with responsibility for ensuring that all client and office payments and receipts are accurately recorded and processed.
The Trainee Legal Cashier is the main point of contact for:Electronic payments and receipts
Cheque and cash payments and receipts
Petty cash requests
Freelancer/Consultants Invoices
Creditor invoices
Not Yet Paid Disbursem*nts
Trainee Legal Cashier DutiesProcessing of all electronic payments and receipts
Banking of any cash and cheques received. Posting all transactions on to the accounting system.
Checking all payment requests and paying them in accordance with internal procedures and Solicitors Accounts Rules.
Taking credit and debit card payments from clients.
Processing any inter account transfers and making sure any disbursem*nts included are paid in accordance with Solicitors Accounts Rules.
Checking and posting staff expense and overtime claims on Excel in readiness for
processing through the payroll.
Control and reconciliation of the petty cash tins for all branches and posting journals.

Communicate with clients and stakeholders regarding financial queries and provide exceptional customer service:
Other Office Duties As Might Be Required.Trainee Legal Cashier Skills and QualificationsEducation
A minimum of GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).A levels or equivalent in finance or business related subjects are advantageous.
Experience
Previous experience in an office or trainee legal cashier related role is beneficial but not essential
Experience of using Partner for Windows (P4W) is advantageous but not essential
Technical Skills
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Familiarity with accounting software is a plus but not required
Training and Development
Comprehensive training will be provided on the job, including an introduction to the SRA Accounts Rules

Office based role 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday
Some travel to our other offices as and when required
