Great GMAT Tutoring

Richard, 2 lessons with William

Bill took the time to work through the specific types of quantitative problems I had been having difficulty with on the GMAT. He presented alternate methods for solving them, and he worked side-by-side with me to break down the problems to see where I was making mistakes. He has been very helpful and is an excellent communicator. I highly recommend him.

MATH TUTORS CANNOT HELP YOU LEARN THE TRICKS, STRATEGIES or TECHNIQUES that help you get the highest score possible, nor can logicians teach you best how to improve your LSAT score. While I've mastered the underlying math and other tested material and obtained perfect scores on the GMAT and GRE and an almost perfect score on the LSAT, why would you care about that? My sole goal is to teach YOU how to improve YOUR score, starting from where YOU ARE NOW. If you're struggling and need a score just to get past the roadblock one of these tests can present, I'll only teach you ONLY the math you need--the math that recurs most often on the test. Conversely, if you are shooting for a very high score, I can help you hone your skills and pinpoint any weaknesses. For the LSAT, if you're struggling or have very limited time before your test, I'll focus ONLY on the most common diagramming techniques, logical reasoning traps and reading comprehension shortcuts to get you through the test so you can go on to more important things.

I have taught test prep for 20 years including the GRE (entry into graduate school), LSAT (law school), GMAT (for "MBA school" entry), and SAT/ACT prep for college entry. I have taught classes and tutored students in Miami, Namibia (Africa), Indiana and the Twin Cities to diverse students and learners. Methods are chosen based on student needs. I work now as a consultant and really enjoy tutoring. Weird, maybe, but it's my idea of a fun break in the work week.

I also can teach math and know how to make learning fun. I have taught Trig, Algebra, Game Theory, Probability and even Calculus to 5th and 6th graders, so I definitely know how to explain difficult subjects simply.

I have also edited Ph.D. theses and written and/or edited many legal briefs, personal statements for college applications and fiction. I succeeded in law school and if you're bewildered by law school professors who "hide the ball" by not really telling you how t

I have taught the GMAT to students in greater Miami (where I owned a large and successful tutoring and college prep business), Indiana, Minnesota and Namibia (through the US Embassy) since the late 1980s. I've carefully looked at every single written test, published or unpublished, since that time. In the last few years, the GMAT has been administered via the computer, so now I can't make the claim that I've seen every single question that GMAC has asked. But my knowledge of the test remains deep and broad, my strategies powerful and simple. I've taught the GMAT to classes of up to 150 students (in South Florida), through several well-known test prep companies, and one-on-one as I do now.

I attended a Big 10 Law School (Indiana), received a trophy for getting the highest score in Contracts and was graduated in the top 5% of my class. I've tutored law students both in the first year courses but also in many of the electives. I have written many appellate briefs, and know legal writing well.

Knowledgeable and Patient

I’ve done one session with William and have already made great progress. It’s as though he unlocked my brain. He has great communication skills and he understands the challenges I was having. He approaches preparing for the test in a practical manner. My only regret is that I didn’t connect with him earlier.

Always great

Always great as usual. My daughter is so happy to have him as a tutor!! William is very patient with her. He breaks down concepts so my daughter can understand them.

Cynthia , 8 lessons with William

Extremely patient

William is very good at making logical examples that tie to the material. I often over think what is in front of me. Grasping real life examples outside of the textbook is extremely helpful On a side note, he demonstrates patience with someone as overwhelmed as myself. William a remarkable tutor.

Extremely Helpful!

I am taking the LSAT in the next few weeks and William was exceptionally helpful. I am my own worst enemy and get flustered very easily by certain topics. He was able to help me break them down and be way less stressed by everything. I highly suggest using him if you need some help!

Knowledgeable and easy to work with

Bill has applicable material to work with, and he’s able to review all problem types in a thoughtful way. He is also able to provide insight on issues and concepts that are likely to appear on the exam.

Fun learning

William is super friendly. I had fun discussing a case which I had to brief and he was able to answer my questions and guide me to the right direction.

Patient and knowledgeable tutor

Working with William is great. He knows the in's and out's of the GRE. He has plenty of prep material to help you practice for the test. I am confident that I will score better when I take the test because of William's help.

Great tutor!

He hit right on what I needed to work on and how to go about it. Really made me feel like I could understand math and do it! He explained each problem thoroughly and could explain it in different ways so I was sure to understand the "why" behind it.

Great

He is great at reviewing all the topics I have forgotten since high school and elementary school. I would recommend him to any of my friends. If you can't remember exactly how to do topics such as long division and adding and subtracting fractions, he is great at reviewing those topics with you.
