Lowell - Joyce "Joycie" Beryl Hulme, 80, of Lowell, MA died early Tuesday, August 7, 2024 with her loving daughters by her side, after suffering from dementia at D'Youville Senior Care/Memory Care in Lowell.Born in Lawrence, MA, on February 28, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert H. Hulme and Harriet B. (Boardman) Hulme.She attended Lawrence High School where she was a member of the Italian and biology clubs. She graduated with the class of 1961 and went on to earn a license from Fazio Beauty Institute. In 1963 she married her high school sweetheart and started a family. She was employed in early childhood education for many years. Later in her life, Joyce earned an associate's degree from Castle Jr. College in Windham, NH.Joyce was at peace in nature, and found comfort from the warmth of the sun on her face, the sound of the raindrops and the wind, and the beauty of a snow storm. She was appreciative of even the simplest things. She "got a kick" out of the squirrels frolicking under the oak trees, watching the ducks and geese by the Merrimack River, and the seagulls at the beach. She loved all animals and looked forward to visits from her grand-dog Blitzer and Oliver the therapy dog. Fieldtrips with Kim to the local wildlife rescue also highlighted her days.She enjoyed crocheting, ice skating and watching the Red Sox but most of all, spending time with her family and friends.She is survived by her daughters Robin Riendeau of Bowdoinham, ME, and Kim Cook (fiancée Scott Buonopane) of Groton, MA, her brother Gilbert (Marlene) Hulme of Windham, NH and her sister in-law Patricia Hulme of Atkinson, NH, two grandchildren: Louis (Nicole) Quintal of Andover, MA and Miranda (Ian) Dunnett of Scarborough, ME, four great-grandchildren; Callie and Thea Quintal, Juniper and Max Dunnett, nieces; Trish Hulme and Danielle King, and nephew John Hulme.She was the sister of the late Carole Ann Dwyer and Kenneth Hulme.Joyce will be remembered by her friends and family for her kindness to others and cheerful demeanor.There will be visiting hours from 1:00 to 4:00 on Sunday, August 18th, and a funeral service at 10:00 am on Monday, August 19th, both taking place at the Dolan Funeral Home, 106 Middlesex St., Chelmsford, MA. Salem - Marie 'Irene' Weber, age 87, of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 9, 2024. Born in Lawrence, MA, she was a cherished daughter of the late Alphonse and Eva (Roy) Rheaume. A proud alumna of St Anne's High School in Lawrence, Irene furthered her education with a Bachelor of Science in Secretarial Science from Merrimack College in 1958. She worked five years as an Executive Secretary for Avco Corp and the Department of Defense before retiring in 1963 to devote herself to her family alongside her late husband, George. Irene's passion for music was evident through her service as a church organist and soloist at St. Mary's, St. Theresa's, and St. Andrew's Churches in Billerica, MA, from 1966 to 1987. Her faith later led her to become a member of the Augustinian Seculars and an Affiliate of the Order of St. Augustine. Her generous spirit shone in her volunteer work, including serving as a pre-adopt Foster Parent for Catholic Charities in Washington, DC, caring for 12 newborns between 1990 and 1995, assisting at the Augustinian College Seminary from 1995 through 1999, and contributing to St. Peter's Church St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry in Concord, NH from 2005 through 2014. Irene was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years, George, in September 2019. She is survived by her loving sons, David and his wife Sherie of Derry, NH; Mark and his partner Lynn Mendonca of Dracut, MA; and John and his wife Melissa (Lisa) of Woodstock, GA. She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren (Matthew, Michael, Brendan, Stephanie, Sarah, Andrew, Lauren,Cailyn, Corey, and Roiya) and is also remembered by her sister Yvonne DeCosta and her husband Douglas of E. Bridgewater, MA, niece Anne DeCosta, nephew Paul DeCosta, and numerous cousins. In her younger years, Irene was an avid reader, enjoyed speeding through the New York Times crossword puzzle and puttering around the garden. She had a fondness for dark chocolate and was an expert in the 'sewing arts', including cross-stitch, crochet, knitting, sewing, needlepoint, embroidery, quilting, as well as playing her baby grand piano. Most recently, Irene was a parishioner at the Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, NH. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Salem - Nancy Rochira, 80, a lifelong resident of Salem, NH passed away August 11th at Salemhaven after a period of declining health. She grew up in Salem, the daughter of the late Ann and Walter Kibildis. She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Rochira, Jr. She graduated from Woodbury High School, Class of 1962 and from Castle Junior College. She was Director of the Housing Authority for the Town of Salem, NH until her retirement. Nancy enjoyed gardening and following the political affairs of the Town. She enjoyed watching the Planning Board Meetings and staying current on what was happening in Salem. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Rochira) Southwick and her husband Richard of North Hampton, NH; her brother, Richard Kibildis and his wife Priscilla of Davie, FL and several nieces and nephews; and former husband Ronald D. Haverhill - Walter W. Wightman, 79, passed peacefully on August 12, 2024 following a fierce battle with cancer. Walter was the husband of Nazira (Yezzell) Wightman to whom he was married for 56 years.. Born and educated in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Walter H. and Edna M. (Gleason) Wightman. Hardworking and strong, Walter took his gift of creation and self-taught engineering, and put it into fixing anything and everything. He managed a small roofing and siding business from which he retired more than a decade ago only to become a man of even more trades at his home where he lived with his wife of 56+ years.Besides his wife, Walter, the only son in a family of four sisters, is survived by his daughter; Heather; son-in-law David Kraus; granddaughter Sofiah; their puppy love JJ; sister, Jeannine Ravigala, and many nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly. Derry - Frank Anthony Jacobs, 71, of Derry, NH, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH, after a courageous battle with health issues. He was the husband of Grace Anne (Regan) Jacobs, with whom he shared thirty-eight wonderful years in marriage. Frank first met the love of his life Grace in 1984 and two years later they were married. They settled in Windham NH where they started a family and years later relocated to Derry where they currently reside.Born in Lawrence, MA and raised in Methuen, MA, son of the late Edward and Caterina "Kay" (Palumbo) Jacobs, Frank was a graduate of Tenney High School, class of 1971, and later received an Associate Degree from Northern Essex College. Frank enjoyed a long career in computer sales, until his retirement. Frank was a dedicated and loyal fan of all New England sports franchises especially the Red Sox and Patriots and he always had a great time attending games. He was an avid tennis player and fan where Frank spent a lot of his early years on the court with friends. For many years his family spent many vacations and summers in the Bronx, New York with Uncle Tony and his Aunt Mary Spinelli (his Godmother and Godfather). He loved going to the World's Fair and had many summer days at Jones Beach. Frank loved and cherished having lunch with his childhood friends Donald Privitera and David Grosse who were always with him through thick and thin right up until his death. He also enjoyed a monthly lunch with his close friend of 40 years Artie Ginsberg. Along with his Italian Heritage he loved his Lebanese family and cousins. Frank especially loved having his monthly breakfast with his cousin Bruce Touma where they would talk and laugh about old times and all the family comings and goings. Along with his cousins, aunts and uncle, they would all get together at Frank's family home in Methuen where they would play wiffle ball and swim in the pool or swing on the swing his father built on a big oak tree in the yard. He kept so many special memories tucked in his heart. He loved his mother's cooking because she would cook both his Italian and Lebanese family favorites.Franks loved spending time with his family throughout the years and his many holidays with Grace's family including her deceased brother Charlie and sister-in-laws Lee and Lorriane. He loved to travel with his family and enjoyed traveling throughout New England as well as their many unplanned dining experiences along the way. Every day was a new adventure which he planned and would surprise his family. He also looked forward to his many trips to beaches all over New England, the Cape, Salisbury Beach and Nantucket being his favorites. One of his most cherished memories was being with his brother Tom and his wife JR in Ireland.Frank was predeceased by his beloved brother Thomas Jacobs and his wife Jeanann R. In addition to his cherished and devoted wife, Grace, he is survived by his children, Brad E. Jacobs of Cape May, NJ, Kaitlin R. Jacobs of Derry, NH; sister Janet Jacobs of Lowell, MA; several cousins; and his special nieces Jennafer Higgs and her husband Michael, Jodi E. Andover - Lia Elena Sheehan, 22, of Andover, died Thursday, August 8, 2024, in her home due to a sudden medical emergency. Lia was born in Oceanside, California on February 13, 2002.She was a graduate of Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School. She was employed as a private childcare provider and was in training for her Yoga Instructor certification.Lia is survived by her father John F. Sheehan and her step-mom Pamela Sheehan. She was predeceased by her mother, Anastasia Sheehan. She is also survived by her three sisters, Ashley Avantz-Sheehan, Danielle Broyles and her husband Michael, and Gwen Sweeney. Additionally, she is survived by her grandmother Helen Stetson of Lawrence, and many uncles, aunts and cousins from the Sheehan, Stratigakis and Rassias families. Bay Springs - Dennis R. Fontaine, 69, of Bay Springs MS, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024 after a lengthy period of declining health.Born in Lawrence, MA on July 14, 1954, to the late Raymond E. and Florence (Dion) Fontaine. Dennis was raised and educated in Lawrence public schools. He was a graduate of Greater Lawrence Technical School and Sylvania Technical Institute.Dennis began his career in auto body and repair, soon moving onto Electronic Technician positions. For a number of years Dennis traveled worldwide to install and repair high vacuum systems for High Voltage Engineering. Upon returning to the States he moved to Mississippi and worked many years at Sunbeam Corporation as a technician, from which he was retired. Dennis was an avid TV and music lover. He was particularly fond of seventies music and retro TV shows. He always loved Arabic cuisine, which he enjoyed during his annual Christmas visits back to the area.Beloved brother, uncle and friend, he will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents Dennis was predeceased by his brother Raymond A. Fontaine, sister Lynne Fontaine and niece Erin McClintock. Methuen - Jeanne M. (Brunelle) Michel, age 81, passed away peacefully, on Friday, August 9, 2024. She was born April 5, 1943, in Haverhill Massachusetts, to Gerard and Annette (Huberdeau) Brunelle. She was a graduate of Saint James High School, Haverhill, Massachusetts.Jeanne married the love of her life, Raymond Michel on August 28, 1965 in Haverhill Massachusetts. She worked at WHAV radio station and also worked at Raytheon and later Dynamic Research before retiring to enjoy her later years with her husband. They spent their winters in Florida, making many new friends and enjoyed the sun, Irish Dancing and time relaxing by their pool.Jeanne looked forward to the trips her children would make to Florida, sharing in their many experiences, and always making special new memories along the way. No one went away without one of her strong, loving hugs.Jeanne truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending time with her loving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, individually, and at the many special family gatherings. Jeanne was a strong matriarch who truly loved from her heart. She was a devoted wife and mother and had a passionate love for her children who were truly the lights in her life. Methuen/Chicopee - Joan Lily (Seglin) Ogrodnik, of Methuen and Chicopee, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Methuen Village Assisted Living. Born in Lawrence on June 24, 1935, daughter of the late Alexander and Emily (Rusins) Seglin, she was a graduate of Searles High School, Class of 1953. Joan continued her education, earning a B.S. from Sargent College, which is part of Boston University, and an M.A. from Lesley College. She enjoyed a long career as a physical therapist, working in various hospitals in New York and Boston. Joan met and married Joseph Francis Ogrodnik in 1971 and moved to his home in Chicopee. There she put her physical therapy talents to good use in the Springfield area. After retirement, she and Joe became involved in a reunion group of surviving members of the crew of the USS Witter, a destroyer escort during World War II. Joan compiled a group of remembrances from the group and published a book entitled "Remembering our Duties, Missions and Life Aboard the USS Witter DE 636". Joan and Joe loved to travel and made many road trips all across the country. Joan was predeceased in 2010 by her beloved husband of thirty-nine years, Joseph F. Ogrodnik; and is survived by her loving sister, Sandra A. Seglin of Methuen; caring cousins, Astrida Apse of Sharon; Zigrida Kruckovs of Roslindale, Lily Reks of Tucson, AZ, and many other cousins. North Andover - Mrs. Evelyn F. (Reid) Martineau, a resident of North Andover, formerly of Andover and beloved wife of Paul J. Martineau, passed away at her home, Ashland Farms, on Friday evening, August 9, 2024. She was 93 years old.Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on October 9, 1930, she was the beloved daughter of the late Bryan and Mary L. (Bradley) Reid. Evelyn attended Merrimack College and had been employed as a District Manager of New England Telephone and Verizon, for many years.In her spare time, Evelyn enjoyed rooting for the Patriots and Red Sox and visiting St. Petersburg with her husband and friends. She was also a former Past President of the Quota Club in Lawrence. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Groveland - Isabelle Curry Byron, 95, of Groveland, MA passed away August 9, 2024 at her Groveland residence with her family by her side.She was born in Lawrence on September 15, 1928, daughter of the late Joseph P. and Lea (Fortier) Vaillancourt.She attended Sacred Heart Grammar and High Schools in Lawrence. Isabelle was employed at the former AT&T as an auditor retiring in 1993.Isabelle was best known for her love of family and cherishing the simple things in life. She loved her front porch overlooking Johnsons Pond, bird watching, crossword puzzles, and never missing Wheel of Fortune or a chance to play Bingo. Some of her other pleasures were playing her violin and her player piano, walks with her dog, gardening, sewing, and in her later years, family group efforts with never ending jigsaw puzzles. Every winter she became a snow bird and would fly to Hobe Sound, Florida and unite with her sister, Eugenie Trott. The two would laugh, tell stories of their youth, lunch, play bingo every Tuesday night and enjoy their tea time.She was the loving wife of the late Robert E. Curry and together they built a beautiful family. When she lost Bob, fate brought her to late Thomas Byron and blended our families.She will be missed by her family Brenda Curry, Gail & Creighton Horn, Nancy & Richard Amidio, the late Robert Curry, James & Sheri Curry, Laurie & George Attar, Vincent & Karen Byron, Thomas & Tina Byron, Jr, Joseph & Sarah Byron. Kingston - Prudence "Prudy" Ann Wood a longterm resident of Kingston passed peacefully in the home of her dearest friends on August 4, 2024 at the age of 89.Prudy, beloved teacher for over 37 years at the Daniel J. Bakie Elementary School in Kingston, NH, was born on her parents, Pearl and Raymond Wood's Bible Hill Farm in Melvin Mills, New Hampshire on May 20, 1935. She is survived by her sister, Katherine Sheridan of Grove City, Ohio, ten nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces and nephews, and two great great nieces.After completing her chores on the farm, Prudy would walk the ¾ miles down Bible Hill Road to catch the train, and subsequently, a bus to school in Warner, New Hampshire where she was an outstanding student. Always an avid reader and lover of books, Prudy received a scholarship to Mt. Ida College in Newton, Massachusetts where she graduated with honors and continued her education with a degree from Keene State College, then Keene Teacher's College.Prudy loved her profession and in her decades a Bakie School she touched and changed many lives as an elementary school teacher. She also established enduring friendships with other teachers that lasted for life.She was literally a world traveler and adventurer traveling to the Antarctica twice and touring all of the remaining six continents, frequently with her sister Kay. She didn't have to leave the US for adventure as she attended spring Baseball training in Florida and Arizona for over a decade in retirement. Of course she was a Red Sox fan, having taught Carlton "Pug", then "Pudgy", Fisk in Charlestown, New Hampshire, as a student teacher. Her sister Kay was an equally avid Indians fan which led to years of spirited dialogue. She traveled much of the world and US as an avid "birder" and accumulated an impressive "life list" of bird sightings which included over 700 of the 1,000 known species. Nor did she have to leave her beloved New Hampshire for adventure. She successfully summited all 48 of the 4,000-foot peaks in the White Mountains.Prudy had a vast range of interests, with some reaching the level of passions. He older sister, Priscilla, nicknamed for life by Prudy as "Sid", called her Prudy 5 B's which stood for books, birds, bridge, baseball, and bowling. Add to that tennis, which she played for most of her life and watched faithfully once it became a cable television staple.Finally, Prudy will be remembered for her sense of humor. She would throw back her head, slap her knee, and laugh infectiously at others jokes. Although, a great storyteller and occasional stretcher of the truth, she did not necessarily tell jokes. She, like all great wits found humor and irony in the everyday events of life. She will be greatly missed for the joy she brought to the lives of her surviving friends and family.A celebration of Prudy's life will be held on the patio of the Fremont Pizzeria Restaurant on Saturday, August 31 from 12 until 2 p.m., with a rain date of Sunday, September 1st. Friends, colleagues, and former students are invited to attend and share stories and memories. Salem - It is with the heaviest heart that we announce the passing of Margaret B. Turner, 80, of Salem, NH, on Saturday June 29th 2024. Born November 4th, 1943, Margaret was the second daughter to Walter and Ludmilla Lieweher, of Olbersdorf, Germany. Margaret lived in Germany during her early childhood years but later moved to Australia when she was 12 years old. She is survived by her husband Henry J. Turner. Married for over 60 years, Margaret and Henry met in New Zealand while Margaret was on a working holiday and Henry was serving in the Navy. They married in 1964 and moved to Salem, New Hampshire in 1979, where they raised their two daughters Natalie Thibodeau and Regan McCormick. Margaret worked for over 30 years in the medical field as an administrative assistant. When she wasn't working she spent her free time cooking. She was an excellent German cook, even being featured in the Eagle Tribune in 1970 for her German inspired steak dinner. Margaret leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Henry J. Turner, their eldest daughter, Natalie Thibodeau and her husband Brain Thibodeau; their children Brenna and her fiancé Shane, Tyler and his wife Madi, and their son Drew. Their youngest daughter, Regan McCormick and her husband Shaun McCormick; their children Kiana and Lincoln. Their nephews Jules and Casey Castellez; their wives Becky Castellez and Kari Castellez, and Casey and Kari's daughter Kaia. And her sister Claudia Webb as well as several nieces and nephews. Atkinson - Clare Marie Gilliam, 99, of Atkinson, NH, and Chevy Chase, MD, died peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family.Born on June 21, 1925, in Lawrence, MA, she was the daughter of the late Fritz and Helen (O'Brien) Heinrich.Clare was a proud graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1942, and furthered her education at Burdett Business College. Her early career at the Marine Insurance Company in Boston ignited a lifelong passion for finance. In 1948, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked at the Department of Defense until she married on May 28, 1955. She raised four children on her own after her husband died in 1974.In 1979, Clare channeled her dedication to service into volunteering, initially dedicating ten years to the Red Cross at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and later volunteering answering phones on the White House Comment Line. This allowed her to further her interest in keeping up on current events.Clare cherished her summers and falls at her seasonal home in Atkinson, NH, where she delighted in visiting Jenness Beach and North Conway. Her love for travel led her and her family to Quebec, Florida, and numerous Caribbean Islands. Additionally, Clare had a deep passion for gardening, which brought her much joy.Her kindness, strength, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her.She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick P. (Lamond) Demeritt, 74, of Atkinson, NH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill.Born in Haverhill on May 14, 1950 she was the daughter of Allan "Sonny" and Nancy K. (Skillings) Lamond. She was a graduate of Pentucket High School, Class of 1968 then went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree from the University of New Hampshire and a Masters degree from New Hampshire College. Ellen taught Data Processing at Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School for 25 years, until her retirement in 2005. She enjoyed many years as a snowbird, wintering in Naples, FL. She was very independent, had a great sense of humor and always pushed her family to study and be well educated. Ellen loved her dogs, was an avid crafter and cherished her grandchildren. She will be remembered fondly as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and will be sadly missed but her lasting legacy will never be forgotten.Ellen is survived by her loving husband Dennis C. As an elementary school teacher at North Andover Public School, she inspired countless young minds as a 2nd grade teacher and also as an educator to those with distinct support needs.Gayle's greatest joys were her family, their energetic outdoor pursuits, her students, and her creative pursuits. The love story of Gayle and Scott was a beautiful one, true soulmates. She loved animals, gardening, crafting, and being anywhere outdoors — campground, sailing, hiking trail, lake, ski slope, beach — that her husband and kids were. She had a strong faith and was a devout Catholic. Gayle was so proud — and rightly so — of her three children and their loved ones, Mark, Riley, and Dillon, and she loved every minute she spent with them. Andover - Attorney Howard Martin Berger, 76, of Andover and Harwich, MA. passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 2nd, on Cape Cod, one of his favorite places.Howard had a profound impact on the lives of many - his loving family, his countless friends, and his loyal clients. He was one-of-a-kind; unfailingly generous, kind-hearted, and the ultimate raconteur. He delighted in regaling his family and friends with anecdotes that reflected his uniquely humorous outlook on the world.Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, he spent most of his life in Andover. Bar Mitzvahed at Temple Emanuel in Lawrence, he graduated from Andover High School in 1966, and went on to Temple University in Philadelphia, then Suffolk Law School in Boston. A proud member of the Massachusetts Bar, he spent nearly 50 years in the general practice of law. He was devoted to his clients in a way that few are - he would accept a phone call at any time of day, and was much more than a lawyer for those who were lucky enough to call him their attorney. He was formerly Chair of the Property Law Section of the Mass Bar and practiced law for decades, first with his father J. John, then with his brother Carl, and their law partner James Hyde in downtown Andover.In addition to his legal practice, Howard was a member of the Board of Directors for the Hingham Institute for Savings. He was also the co-owner of The Point, an historic watering hole in Faneuil Hall.It was in law school in Boston that Howie first met Susan Shepard, his "duck", also an attorney. They married in 1980 at the Lanam Club in Andover, and remained inseparable for the next 44 years.The Berger family were members of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Andover, and of the Indian Ridge Country Club for many decades.Howie was an avid and astute Blackjack player; he never met a side bet he didn't like. He remembered every meal he ever ate and loved dining out and holding court at Bishops Restaurant, a bygone Lawrence institution.Yet Howie's greatest devotion was to his family. He was an adoring husband, and a loving and accepting father to his three children. Later in life, Howard doted on his grandchildren. For years, he also cherished the companionship of the family's Cairn Terrier, Echo.Howard is preceded in death by his parents, J. John and Mollie Berger, and is survived by his wife Susan Shepard, his children, Jesse Berger of Norwood, Mass., Ned Berger, of Los Angeles, and Meryl Berger and her wife Allison of Plainville, Mass., and their children Molly and Benjamin. METHUEN - Paul B. Reardon, 74, longtime Methuen resident, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 3 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loved ones.Paul was born in Methuen, MA on October 15, 1949 to William Reardon and Mildred Kelley. He graduated from Methuen High School in 1967, and he then went on to serve in the U.S. Navy where he was stationed in California. After that he attended college, and he became a Mechanical Engineer by profession at Analogic. Paul was passionate about many things. He loved drawing and painting. His green thumb could make any garden shine. He enjoyed camping and fishing. He was an avid hiker, having hiked all 48 of the 4000-foot mountains in the White Mountains before his 50th birthday. He loved going on little adventures with his wife to explore beaches and mountains. There was never a doubt about how much he loved his grandsons, Jacoby and Mason. He never missed a chance to watch them play their favorite sports, go fishing with them or take them shopping. Paul will be remembered for his funny sense of humor and down to earth personality. He was a kind, caring and smart man. He will be missed by many. His laughter will forever echo in our hearts. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Doris (Pinet); his daughter Donna Baril of Haverhill, MA, her husband Ray Baril, and his grandsons, Jacoby and Mason. North Andover - Steven Rich of North Andover passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024.The first of three children, he was the son of William Rich and Elena (Messina) Rich. He leaves behind his wife of 47 years Nancy, brother Bill, sister Elaine, daughter Amanda, son Matthew (Casi), grandson Matthew Steven, his nephews, and many, many more whom he loved, and who loved him very much.Steve was passionate about a lot of things. He loved art and creating. He loved American history, a great adventure, the outdoors, legends of the wild west, and more than anything else, his family.Steve met his future wife, Nancy, on a trip to Japan in 1975. Steve went on to marry Nancy in 1977. There was a blizzard that day. It turned out to be a good sign.After that, Steve and Nancy had two kids. They were a team in life, and they made each other laugh. A lot.Steve took his family off to explore the world. When they weren't exploring you could find him watching a hockey practice, his daughter horseback riding, or one of the other sports his children played.Steve was history teacher at the Winter Hill School in Somerville, then later an art teacher at Somerville Highschool. He was proud of his students and proud to be from Somerville. When you sat down to talk with him, he always had a story that tied back to the city.Family was everything. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother. He and his brother, Bill often spent their days doing yard work, hiking, and building sculptures. His house and the yard are filled with his creations.He made time for all of us to be together every Sunday. He never missed a game, an event, or a holiday. He once joined a fraternal lodge he didn't want to join so his Father-in-Law Danny wouldn't have to go it alone. Steve made sure he was there for all of us whenever we needed him. He loved us all and we were and are so proud to call him ours.The world was a better place with him in it. Son of John F. Shaw Jr and Ruth Shaw (Callahan) of Peabody, MA.Jack is survived by his loving wife for 60+ years Sharen L. Shaw (Wilt) of North Andover, MA their son, Darren Shaw and daughter in law Jennifer Shaw and his cherished grandchildren, Sophia and Emmet Shaw, all of Boxford, MA.He also leaves behind his sister, Janet Smith (Husband Ronald) of Palmer, MA, as well as nieces Jennifer Aubrey (Husband Daniel) of South Hadley, MA and Janice Keeton (Husband Ronald) of Monson, MA. John was predeceased by his father John (1998) and Ruth (1988) as well as his younger sister, Joan Shaw (Partner Taffy) of Newton, NH in 2017. Jack had several cousins and grand nieces and nephews who all will miss him dearly.Jack was a graduate of Peabody High School, Class of 1962 where he excelled in the classroom as well as playing football. He worked in various automobile service stations in the area throughout his high school years working on engines as a mechanic. Jacks work ethic and sincere personality was something to admire. Upon graduation he enrolled in the United States Army as a reserve and was promoted to Master Sargent while serving. Jacks' education continued in college where he studied Electrical Engineering at Wentworth Institute of Technology. He decided to shift focus to Mechanical Engineering at another school, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He went on to graduate with a master's in mechanical engineering along with graduating from SLOAN Business School in 1972.Professionally his career was as equally as impressive as his education. He began working with Warren Pike Associates in Boston, MA providing industrial equipment to local manufacturers. He then took a job as Marketing Manager with United Shoe Manufacturing Company in Beverly, MA. While working on machines that made various footwear, he utilized his gift of math to improve machines and production. Cam Driven Indexing machines was something Jack gravitated toward and became an expert. His ambition led him to start his business JF Shaw Company Inc as an Industrial Manufacturers Representative in 1975. The company is a leader in the industry and focuses on Power Transmission Equipment, Motion Control, Safety Automation and other cuttingedge technology and is based in Wilmington, MA.Jack spent countless hours volunteering as a sports coach and community leader. Jack was President of the North Andover Soccer Association as well as Board Member of the Joseph N. Hermann Youth Center, leading the development and construction of a new youth center. While his son was attending Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, MA Jack garnered interest in the school's mission and how it impacts the community. Jack supported Centrals mission for 15 years as a board member, during that time he went on to be the first two-time elected Chairman at Central Catholic High School. Jack was also a board member at Lawrence Boys and Girls Club and lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and countless other social and networking memberships in the area.Jack had a passion for family, fast cars, scuba diving, boating, flying and tools. His legacy will be remembered by his family, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing him through his volunteer work and community service. North Andover - Helen "Eva" Belanger (Sirios) of North Andover, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday August 3, 2024.Helen was born January 22, 1932 in Massachusetts to the late Phillip and Lucie (Paquin) Sirois.Helen held many positions in life, most importantly she was a devoted mother. Helen and her late husband parented 15 children who she proudly raised alone. Helen also had 31 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.She also worked at a shoe shop, Sweetheart Plastics, was a hair stylist and retired from Raytheon after 21 years.Helen was a Franciscan of the 3rd order embracing simplicity of life and care for the poor. She was also a Eucharistic Minister and CCD teacher for Saint Michael's church.Helen had many passions and hobbies including quilting, and rosary bead making for hospital patients and volunteering at Bread and Roses Food Pantry. She was also a professional clown donating her time at St. Michaels as Dimples T. Clown; unicycling and balloon twisting, porcelain doll making, crafting, anything she could do to make the world smile a little brighter. Helen was a spiritual coach to many. Her love and faith in God brought her through all life struggles. Helen's children were always her first priority. As her family grew, she taught her children to always multiply your love and never divide it.Helen was preceded in death by her sons Joseph, Bob, and her daughter Helen, grandchild Jessica Belanger and her great-granddaughter, Laney Breeden; her siblings Delores Grey, Jeanine Pearly, Flora Lovely, and Armand Sirois. Sandown - Wayne Bovi, age 74, of Sandown, NH died on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Parkland Medical Center, in Derry NH. He was the beloved husband of Colleen A. (Manning) Bovi who passed away in 2018. Wayne was born in the Bronx, New York on September 18, 1949, and was the son of the late Ernest T. and Beverly J. (Ashcraft) Bovi. He was raised and educated in Torrington, CT., graduating from Torrington High School in 1967. From there, Wayne went on to earn an A.A.S. from Grahm Junior College, a B.A. from Curry College, and an M.A. from Northern Arizona University. On June 10th, 1972, Wayne married Colleen Manning (New Hartford, CT) shortly after her graduation from Emerson College. Wayne and Colleen enjoyed over 46 years of marriage before her passing on September 24th of 2018. Together, always, their professional travels took them from Arizona to North Carolina and finally to Derry, NH in 1977. Wayne pivoted careers at this point, leaving behind his job as an instructor of English at East Carolina University to embark on a career in management in both the retail music and real estate industries. In 1991, Wayne decided to enter the burgeoning computer industry and enjoyed a long run in the computer software and sales industry, finally retiring in 2004. More than anything in his life, Wayne enjoyed being with his dear Colleen. They traveled to many places throughout the world including Hawaii, Ireland, France, and Italy and on a more local level, loved to spend weekends in Ogunquit, ME. Wayne and Colleen were always together, and neither would have it any other way. They especially enjoyed live music and were faithful patrons of Tupelo Music Hall in Derry. A huge fan of films, Wayne was known to host his own Oscars parties with just him and Colleen, complete with the pageantry befitting a red-carpet event, all from the confines of their living room. Wayne dearly loved his family and friends, always remembering anniversaries, birthdays, and special occasions. He will truly be missed. Salem - Anne Marie Hopkins, 86, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024. She was the wife of the late Leonard F Hopkins, who passed away in 2003.Anne Marie was born in London, England on August 8, 1937. She was a young girl growing up during World War 2, and had many stories to share of surviving the London Blitz, when London suffered 8 months of a bombing campaign by Germany.Born to a single mother and growing up in an orphanage, Anne Marie never let her humble beginnings limit her. At the age of 18, she started modeling and traveling around Europe. Becoming a young woman in the decade where women were finding their voice in a big way and expressing themselves in society, Anne Marie had no problem modeling a bikini exiting a British Airways flight at the start of the 60s. She lived and breathed "showbiz", and moved to the South of France, to dance and follow her passion. As fate would have it, she met the love of her life, a decorated American sailor in the Navy, in 1964. As she liked to say, she and the Beatles travelled to America together in 1964 to follow her heart.Once in America, she married the love of her life in 1965 and together they moved to Salem, NH. Anne Marie and Leonard had three children and four grandchildren. Anne Marie was a dedicated member to Mary Queen of Peace Church, and an active member of the Salem, NH community. She worked for the Salem school district for two decades, where she was beloved by many.Anne Marie could teach us all a lot about life. To follow your dreams, to beat to your own drum, and to never take life too seriously. Up until her final days she still had her great sense of humor and a love of life. As Anne Marie would so often say, "love makes the world go around", "stop and smell the roses", and "it's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice". Munroe, 90, of North Andover, MA, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024 due to complications from a fall, just seven weeks after the death of her beloved husband, Dick.Jane was born in 1933 and raised in Andover, MA. She graduated from Punchard High School in 1951. She met the love of her life, Dick, at Punchard; they wed in 1952. Jane accompanied Dick while he served in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956, living in St. Louis, MO; and Oakland, CA. Upon his discharge from the Air Force, Dick and Jane spent several years in Burlington, MA and Oakland, NJ before returning to Andover in 1967.Jane was a loyal employee of Phillips Academy in many capacities, ultimately as the headmaster's secretary for many years. After "retiring" in 1998 and moving to Cape Cod, she continued her work life as a secretary for a construction company and as a caretaker for Home Instead Senior Care. Jane and Dick moved to Methuen in 2009, where her passion was volunteering. In Methuen and after moving to Edgewood in North Andover, she transported seniors to doctors appointments for Elder Services and knitted for children and people in hospice.Jane was a faithful member of the West Parish Church in Andover since childhood. She enjoyed baking and sharing desserts with family and friends. Jane loved square dancing, reading, bingo, 45s, game shows, and above all, spending time with her family. As Dick's health declined, Jane was his loving caregiver for a number of years.Jane will be missed by her son, Donald, of Nashua, NH; her daughter, Nancy Corsaro, and her husband, Frank, of Methuen, MA; and her grandsons Matthew and Michael Corsaro, of Methuen, MA. Litchfield - Arlene "Bunny" O'Hara, 81, of Litchfield, NH, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.Bunny was born on April 25, 1943, in Peabody, MA. She grew up in Peabody, raised her family in Methuen, MA, and later moved to Atkinson, NH, and later to Litchfield, NH, with her husband, John.In 1955, Bunny met her high school sweetheart, John, and the two were inseparable from that point on. They were married for over 63 years and had two children, John and Noreen. Bunny was a wonderful and loving mother, but her favorite roll was being a grandparent. She treasured her time with her grandkids and loved being their Nana. You could always find her on the sidelines cheering them on at their sporting events or in the front row for a dance recital. Not a day went by where Bunny didn't talk about how much her family meant to her.Shortly after retirement, Bunny became a "snowbird," travelling to Florida with John during the winter months. She enjoyed going to the beach, playing golf, bingo, and visiting the casino looking for the perfect slot machine that was sure to be a winner. Gloria dedicated thirty-three years of her life to teaching in Puerto Rico before continuing her impactful career in the Massachusetts school system for an additional twelve years, until her retirement. Her commitment to education left a lasting mark on countless students. Gloria's creative spirit shone through her love of writing and poetry. She took great joy in composing and reciting poems, with an unpublished collection reflecting her deep thoughts and feelings. Her generosity extended beyond the classroom, as she was known for her selfless acts of kindness and contributions to various charities. Gloria had an incredible ability to uplift those around her, always putting others' needs before her own. Gladys was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Donald A. George.Born in Methuen, she was the daughter of Charles and Alice Bistany. Gladys graduated from Edward F. Searles High School in Methuen, Class of 1951. She went on to attend and graduate from Burdett College in Boston, MA where she studied to become an executive assistant. Gladys' most memorable career choice was to relocate to Washington D.C. and work at the Department of Defense in the Pentagon during the Eisenhower administration. As a young executive assistant, she was trusted with many important documents and felt immense pride in her work.Periodically, she returned to Methuen and met the love of her life, Donald A. George, through St. Anthony's Maronite Church. The two were married in 1957, and Gladys followed her husband for an assignment in New York. There, they began their family in Floral Park, NY. In 1960, they returned to Methuen with their young daughters, Alison and Donna.While taking care of her mother, Gladys became a very active member of the St. Anthony's Sodality. She enjoyed singing in the choir and the many fundraising activities that helped the church community grow. She was also instrumental in launching Home Inspections Associates, a startup business that her husband, Donald, and brother-in-law Sam founded.Gladys and Donald continued to grow their family with the birth of two sons, Christopher and Stephen. Gladys had a remarkable commitment to her community, to her church, and to her family. Often, she would coordinate and plan family gatherings and vacations that not only included her immediate family, but also her many nieces and nephews. Many of those same nieces and nephews remained very close to Auntie Gladys.What really brought her joy and happiness was her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Sito made sure that they were very loved, supported, and close to one another. The holidays at her house were always warm and loving and brought the entire family together. She very much enjoyed traveling to Lake Winnipesaukee with her entire family, not missing the opportunity to show everyone the importance of kindness and thoughtfulness. Born in Lawrence, MA he was the son of the late Thomas and Janet (Collins) Kenney and husband of Suzanne (Clark) Kenney.Peter graduated from Suffolk University with a degree in Economics and pursued graduate studies at Northeastern University. Early in his career, he was a Senior Research Analyst for the Commerce and Labor Committee and the Public Safety Committee of the Massachusetts Legislature. He then worked as a Compensation Analyst for various companies until his retirement. He enjoyed reading, chess, crossword puzzles, getting impeccably dressed for any occasion and playing pool. Demeritt, 68, of Haverhill passed away on Monday, July 29, at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.Clifford was born in Haverhill, he was the son of Clifford E. and Margaret B. (Flammia) Demeritt. Clifford was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School, class of 1973, and then went on to proudly serve in the United States Marine Corps from 1974 until 1976, during which time he was stationed in Washington DC and Camp David for President Ford. He then received his Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Western New England College and served on the Haverhill Police Department for 38 years. Clifford was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time at his camp in West Newfield, ME. Pelham - Charles (Charlie) Payson, or Charlie to his friends and family, of Pelham, NH passed away on June 28, 2024.Charlie, raised in Methuen, MA, was many, many things; an electrical engineer for Raytheon, a hobbyist mechanic, a jury rigging enthusiast, an avid Boston sports fan, a classic rock fan, but he was a family man, more than anything. They moved to Lawrence to start their family and later moved to Methuen and raise their five children. He grew up in North Reading, MA and graduated from No. Reading High School, Class of 1967 and he received his Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Northeastern University. He served his country in the US Air Force. Roy began his career as an insurance adjuster later owning and operated ITS for many years. Roy also owned and operated Emerson Landscaping. Roy was a Master Mason and was a member of the Spicket Lodge #85 in Salem and a member of the Scottish Rites and a 32nd degree Shriner. Roy enjoyed his family camp on Pequawket Lake where he was president of the lake association. He started a yearly family camping weekend which has become a tradition. Salem - Charles L. (Chick) LoPiano was a man who loved deeply and was loved greatly.Originally from Lawrence, MA and through his life Salem, NH, Chick passed away peacefully at age 86, on Sunday, July 22. He was married to his love Cathy, who gave him the nickname Chickie and everyone called him by that name for the next 62 years. They have been retired and living in Naples, FL for three years.He was born September 1, 1937 in Lawrence to Angelo and Margaret Rita LoPiano. Margaret passed away in 1945 and Angelo later married Eileen Buckley, who adopted him and his sister Mary Louise.Chick and Cathy were devoted to their four children — Michael, Lauren, Jonathan and Jillian — and raised them in Salem. Every snow day when the kids woke up, he would recite his favorite poem "The First Snowfall." Over the years, he was a fixture at Salem High football games, baseball games, wrestling matches and gymnastics meets.As much as he loved his children, his true pride and joy were his grandchildren: Michaela, Cara, Victoria, Isabel, Rhys and Rhiannon, and his great-grand daughter Penelope. He proudly attended all his grandchildren's events and activities and could always be found drinking coffee out of a grandchild's college mug.Chick was actively involved in all aspects of life in the Merrimack Valley. As a child, he was active in the Lawrence Boys and Girl's Club, and was a member of the Lawrence YMCA for over 75 years. He pioneered the Head Start Program in Lawrence and the Lawrence Community Boating Program. He could often be found at his favorite restaurants, including the Bishop's, Phoenician and Shadi's.Chick spent every summer at Salisbury Beach. When he was young, he worked as a lifeguard and loved to tell stories about his teenage job at the Bowery. He often would drive the long way home to stop at Hodgie's Ice Cream for a chocolate frappe. The family still enjoys life on North End Blvd at the 'Crabby Shack' and takes their hangover cure of a dip in the ocean seriously.Chick was famous for his love of music and "Chick-isms". "Time to Say Goodbye", by Andrea Bocelli could often be heard at home. "The Race is not to the Swift, but to Those who Endure" is a pearl that will be remembered his children and grandchildren.The family said goodbye to Chick privately in Naples and requests donations be made in his name to the Lawrence Boys and Girl's Club. Upon retirement, she and her husband relocated to Haverhill, MA, and spent winters in Port Charlotte, FL. Newton - Joseph P. Danahy, Jr, 80, a resident of Newton. NH since 2015, died July 19, 2024, at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA.Born in Lawrence, MA, son of the late Joseph P. and Eleanor B. (Doyle) Danahy, he graduated from Lawrence Central Catholic High School with the Class of 1961 and went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Merrimack College in 1965. He later received his Master's Degree in Labor Relations from the University of Rhode Island.Mr. Danahy began his career in labor relations with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union in New York City, and later retired after thirty-five years as the International Director of Labor Relations. Following his retirement, he worked in Washington D.C. for the U.S. State Department as a consultant in labor relations for Croatia. His final career was working as a consultant and broker for many years at Clipper Bay Yachts in Rose Haven, MD.A resident of Danville, NH for 10 years before moving to Newton, Mr. Danahy was a longtime member of the Lawrence Chapter of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 8. He enjoyed golfing at Atkinson Country Club and maintained a lifelong passion for sailing, especially on Chesapeake Bay. He was an avid traveler throughout Europe and chased the Northern Lights in Iceland and Alaska.He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his best friend and devoted wife of thirty years, Cidalia (Cabral) Danahy, a daughter Kasey Johnson and two grandchildren, Lucy and Rion, all of Colorado, a brother William F. Nashua - Patricia Reardon was born in Haverhill MA and was raised there as well as Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale, FL. She graduated from S. Broward High in Hollywood Florida and then moved to Haverhill, MA. After high school she went to work for a bank in Haverhill and she bought a little red convertible. It was her pride and joy. She attended two years at college before getting a job with Raytheon in Andover, MA. She worked as a confidential, private secretary for the Engineering Department. Her career there lasted 28 years.Upon retirement she spent her time working for 15 years at Canobie Lake in Kiddie Land running the rides. In 1969 She moved to Salem NH and loved raising her two girls. In 1974 while her oldest stayed with her in NH her youngest daughter returned to Indiana and resides there still.Patricia loved the beach and spent vacations in Hampton where her daughter and family rented a beach house. She loved long walks on the beach out on the trails, but her best times were when she went dancing. When Lorie married, she loved the family gathering with the in-laws. Holidays were always a grand time for her.Her proudest moments were in 1974 when after graduating she took her oldest daughter to Bishops for Dinner and her first legal drink. While sitting there the lights went out as they lost power. The waitresses went around the dining room with candles and lit one at each table. They both laughed Hysterically. Who would have thought they would be in a romantic setting.During her retirement she would have weekly dinners and shopping with her daughter. Before going home after shopping they would share her favorite candy, a mounds bar.In 1981 she became grandma to two grandsons. Lorie and Tammy had their children four months apart. In 2112 she became a proud great grandma to fraternal twins, plus three other great-grandchildren. Her great-grandchildren called her Nonnie, and their love and affection filled her heart with joy.In 2015 Patricia had a stroke and lived with her daughter for a year until October 2016, then she was moved to Greenbriar Healthcare and Nursing Facility now known as Premier Rehab and HC. Patricia was 88-years-old.Patricia is survived by daughter Lorie (Ayers) Cahalane and spouse, Steven A. Cahalane, Tammy Jo (Ayers) Lamb and Albert J. Lamb, Grandsons, Matthew Cahalane and Larry Allen Lamb. Lahey, Jr. 76, of Methuen, died on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.Philip was born in Lawrence, MA on May 7, 1948 and was the son of the late Philip J. and Lena M. (Grassi) Lahey.Philip was raised in Methuen and was a graduate of Tenney High School, Class of 1966. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army and later graduated from Northern Essex Community College with a degree in Criminal Justice. He worked for the city of Methuen in the DPW department for 33 years until his retirement. He was very active within the city of Methuen, serving as a councilman. He was the co-founder of Merrimack Valley Prevention and Substance Abuse Project, co-hosted TV shows and podcast "The Empty Chair: Exposing Addiction," as well as facilitating the "Circle of Hope" a support group for the loved ones of addicts. Selflessly helping others, breaking the stigma of addiction, prevention and education were his passion and legacy. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and relaxing on his recliner with his dog Bailey.Philip was the beloved husband of Francine M. Lahey. Many years were spent skiing and hiking in the Mount Washington Valley.He was an avid student of history, and loved to discuss and debate history and politics. Lawrence - Barbara J. MacDonald Fournier, 94, of Lawrence, passed away on July 18, 2024. Barbara was born on December 29, 1929, to the late Samuel and Lillian (Veaco*ck) Marshall in Lawrence MA.Barbara was a graduate of Johnson High School and after school went on to work for Fred C. Church for 45 years. She was a lifetime parishioner of the First Calvary Baptist Church and was very involved in the community for most of her life.Barbara is survived by her nieces and nephews Jay Garvey, Nancy Marshall, Paula Chafe, Linda Marshall, Ruth Wilson, David Marshall, Ellen Routhier, Catherine Harnisch, and Scott Marshall and her sister-in-law Mildred Marshall.A memorial service for Barbara will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 11am at the Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St. North Andover MA, 01845. Groveland - Glen G. Hamilton, 66, of Groveland passed away peacefully at his home after a lengthy illness. Glen was born in Haverhill. He was the son of Gordon H. and Ethel L. (Weeks) Hamilton. He was a graduate of Haverhill High School - Class of 1976 and worked many years as a sales associate at Esty Lumber in Groveland. Glen grew up on Whittier Road in Haverhill and was on the board of trustees for the John Greenleaf Whittier Birthplace for many years. Glen enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He spent several years as a caretaker for his best friend David Thompson of Groveland. He was a father, son, brother, grandfather and friend to all. Glen is survived by his mother Ethel L. Hamilton, his wife Marie C. (Ferreira) Hamilton, his daughter Ashley E. Hamilton and her fiancé Jason Bertholdt of Amesbury, MA, his son Seth G. Hamilton and wife Colleen Hamilton of Portsmouth, NH, stepson Joshua J. Gilb and fiancé Ashley Winseck of Pittsfield, MA and stepdaughter Jamie B. Gilb and partner Dwayne Holyoke of Bradford, MA. He also leaves behind his sister, Diane Hamilton-Collins and her husband Charles Collins of Haverhill, MA and several nieces, nephews and his grandchildren - Delaney and Ryder Hamilton, Beatrix, Eloise and Annabel Gilb and Victoria Bertholdt.Services are private. Haverhill - Eileen (Insero) Faulkner, age 82, passed away on July 18, 2024, in Haverhill, Massachusetts.Eileen was born in Haverhill on July 26, 1941, the only child of Anthony A. and Bernice (Migliori) Insero.After graduating from Haverhill High School in 1959, Eileen received her BA degree in French Language Studies from the University of New Hampshire. She continued her studies at the State University of New York in New Paltz, NY, and received an MS in French education.Eileen loved teaching and taught French for over 30 years at New Paltz High School. She was known for upholding rigorous academic standards and pushing her students to learn and excel. She also took a keen personal interest in her students and left an indelible impression on the lives of so many of them.Eileen also taught with the Language Immersion Institute, as well as the undergraduate and graduate French programs at SUNY New Paltz.In 1991 Eileen was honored by Cornell University for her influence over one of her former students who attended the university. A four-year academic scholarship was established in her name, the Star Scholarship. Eileen is survived by her daughter, Michèle (Faulkner) Dollar; her son, Scott Faulkner and his wife April, and by her three grandchildren whom she adored: Landon and Aidan Faulkner, and Brieanna Dollar. She is also survived by her former student, Andrew Sendall, whom she always called her second son, and who helped her tremendously during her life and especially end-of-life. Eileen learned to ski at the age of 50, and she and her longtime partner, Larry Healy, skied in Colorado and Utah as well as across the East Coast. She said the hardest exam she ever passed was the Professional Ski Instructors of America Level 1 Amateur Ski Instructor test.She loved to travel and visited France extensively over the years, as well as Italy and Switzerland.Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visitation on Monday, July 29 from 10-11:30 AM at the H.L. Methuen - On Saturday, July 20, 2024, the world lost one of the most caring, loving and loyal individuals. Vincent "Jimmy" Oliveri, 93, the son of immigrant parents, Maria (Russo) and Salvatore Oliveri, grew up in a cold water flat on Lawrence Street in Lawrence along with his 4 siblings Sam, Lucy (LoPiano), Mike and Frankie.Jimmy joined the United States Navy at 21 and served during the Korean War on the USS Hobson as a radarman. After the tragic accident of April 26, 1952 in the North Atlantic involving the USS Wasp aircraft carrier and the USS Hobson minesweeper, when all but 61 of his crew members were lost, Jimmy miraculously returned home to marry his sweetheart, Vivian Shibel and the rest is history.He loved going out dancing with Vivian, enjoying the music of the day including Frank, Tony, Tommy Dorsey and Erroll Garner. Jimmy was a long time member of the Methuen Knights of Columbus Council #4027. As a devout Catholic, he served as an usher at both St. Augustine's and St. Monica's parishes. The beach may have been one of his favorite places where he enjoyed many family vacations over the years. He was an avid bowler, loved his Red Sox and vegetable garden and played bocci and 45's with a passion to win.Jimmy leaves his loving wife of 72 years, Vivian (Shibel) Oliveri; his adoring daughters, Cheryl Oliveri-Daly and her husband, Dan, and Karen Grevenitz and her husband, Scott; his beloved grandson, Cory Grevenitz and his wife, Nicole; and the newest member of Jimmy's family, his cherished great grandson, Luke Vincent. In addition, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. Atkinson - Joseph F. Sheehan, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the age of 89. Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Ann Marie (Hofbauer) Sheehan, his 6 children and their spouses, Katherine (Kitty) and her husband Andrew Pinard, Margaret (Peggy) and her husband Daniel Ball, Terence (Terry) and his wife Deborah (Liehe), Mary and her husband Michael Brady, Patricia (Patty) and her husband David Butterfield, and Maureen and her husband Andrew Griffin; his 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons; his sister Rita and her husband Alex Monteiro; and many nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his sisters Helen, Elizabeth Doherty, and Mary Edwards.Joe was born in Brighton, MA, on July 5, 1935, and was raised in Somerville, MA. He graduated from Merrimack College with a Bachelor of Arts and then went on to Boston College, where he earned a Masters of Social Work. He moved to Newark, NJ, where he started his first job with United Way. He and Ann Marie were set up on a blind date by two priests in September 1963. They were engaged in November and married the next May. Joe and Ann Marie moved to Youngstown, OH, in 1964, where Joe started a new job with United Way. Their first two daughters were born there. In 1965, they moved to Pittsfield, MA, when he became the Director of the new Anti-Poverty Program. In 1967, they moved to Bloomfield, NJ, where he began working at the National Council on Aging. Their son was born there. They settled in Melrose, MA, in 1970 and welcomed three more daughters. Joe began working for the Massachusetts Dept. of Elder Affairs until his retirement in 2000. In 2007, after seeing all their kids settled with their own families, Joe and Ann Marie moved to Atkinson, NH. During his 37 years in Melrose, Joe was an active member of St. Patrick's Parish in Stoneham as a lector and a CCD teacher. After joining the parish at Holy Angels Church of St. Luke the Evangelist Parish in Plaistow, NH, he continued to serve in these roles for many years.Joe was devoted to God and to his family, and he was always grateful for his happy marriage to Ann Marie. He spent his life in service to others and was never afraid to make the right choice, no matter how difficult. His children loved to tease him about his singing voice, his favorite sayings, and his fondness for formality and structure. This was a bit of a losing battle after having 6 kids and 16 grandkids, but he never gave up.
